Download
This section contains the most important artefacts you may want to download when
using SaC.
This includes the compiler releases as well as some documentation you may find
essential in order to get started such as installation guides, manuals and tutorials.
The current SAC compiler, called sac2c is developed
and runs on UNIX systems.
Binary distributions are available for the following platforms:
- Solaris (Sparc,x86)
- Linux (x86 32bit, x86 64bit)
- DEC (alpha),
- Mac OS X (ppc,x86),
- netBSD (under preparation).
Note that not all features of the SAC compiler are supported on all platforms.
The most complete environments are Solaris and Linux.
For some of the above platforms, we have available
beta versions of the
upcoming compiler generation SaC 1.0!.
We strongly encourage the use of these releases for evaluating SAC,
even though they are not yet ready for production use.
If you do not find your platform in the current SaC 1.0 releases you may
want to check in the section on
pre-1.0 releases
or contact us on one of our mailing lists.
If none of these platforms suits your needs, but you are running
a UNIX system, we may add your platform to the list above.
To do so we need an account on one of your machines.
Please, understand that our development capacities are quite
limited, and porting SAC to a new platform may take some time.
Still, don't hesitate to contact us either via email directly or
by using one of our mailing lists.
